Kids + babies = a win-win trip! In Buffalo, you will serve as a positive role model for disadvantaged urban youth who look to you as role models. You will be spending the day at school with them, learning and eating alongside them. You will also serve with parents and children at the Harvest House’s Baby and Children’s Ministry, sorting donations and spending time with babies and children. And no trip to Buffalo is complete without a trip to Niagara Falls!

This trip is exclusive to graduate students and young professionals! This is the perfect weekend getaway to nearby Chicago, where you will be assisting in the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels mobile food pantry and volunteer appreciation breakfast. These Sisters do it all, including run marathons, so it’s safe to say you will be inspired!! You won’t want to miss this incredible experience.

Back by VERY popular demand, Bapchule is excited to host the Badgers again! Sister Pam is a hero, so much so that people who have gone on service trips here in the past went back on their own to see her again! Here, you will work at St. Peter Mission School, helping teachers in the classroom, library, kitchen, and rummage garage. And of course, you will be spending time with the kids!!

In response to the devastation incurred by Hurricane Harvey, we are taking a trip down to Texas to assist with hurricane relief efforts. Your duties will largely depend upon what is needed, as needs have been changing rapidly since the hurricane hit. This may include, but is not limited to, house repair, food packaging, donation processing, and social support. This service trip is perfect for those who feel called to help in light of current events.

Walls, Mississippi (January 7-12)

Walls offers plenty of opportunities to get your hands dirty, as you will be building and repairing homes of local residents. Previous volunteers have had loads of fun here, and the team at Sacred Heart Southern Missions is thrilled that we are coming back for more!

Kansas City, Missouri (January 7-13)

If you love the environment and practicing sustainability, this trip is for you! In Kansas City, you will live at Jerusalem Farm, where you will live out their four pillars: prayer, community, service, and simplicity. Service focuses on home repair (including building relationships with the homeowners) but includes other service needed that has been identified by the Jerusalem Farm. This trip is a perfect way to tie in your service with your daily life of sustainability!

Eagle Butte, South Dakota (January 9-16)

The Cheyenne River Youth Project offers a safe place for children to come after school, providing resources like a library, a basketball court, dance and art studios, and an internet café. On this trip, you will be spending time with the children, repairing homes, working in the community garden, and helping out at the food pantry or Elderly Nutrition Center. An incredible opportunity on this trip is that community members will come and discuss the history of the Reservation, as well as its culture and legal aspects of its land claims. AND you get to travel to the Badlands!

Denver, Colorado (January 11-19)

God knows us and loves us perfectly. It’s about time we set out to learn more about Him in return! This trip, hosted by Father Anthony of the Community of the Beatitudes, is a wonderful blend of service and spirituality. The service portion may consist of anything from manual projects on the retreat grounds, evangelization, and witnessing to their community of Spanish-speaking youth. Father Anthony will lead the spiritual portion of the trip, teaching about the Church’s roots, participating in the Sacraments, and dwelling in the Lord as we serve others. To top it off, you will hike or snow-shoe up to cabins in the Colorado mountains in which you will be staying.

Darcy and Sister Sharon are SO excited to welcome us back to Philly this year to once again work with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul! If you are passionate about this organization, this trip is a great opportunity to meet students who are involved with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul here in Madison. In Philly, you will be working with a variety of ministries, including food programs, environmental facilities, children, and individuals who are homeless and/or elderly. Additionally, you will have a night out in the town, complete with some good ol’ Philly cheesesteak!
